~Meet Ms. Bloosy~

AH! Halloween is in the air! Time to get out the knives and start chasing the neighborhood ... I mean, carving the pumpkins. It's also time to start working on your research paper if you are in school (reminder to self). So many things to do, and so little time! In lieu of posting something crafty (that I have yet to do this Halloween - and when I say this Halloween I really mean my entire life!), I will introduce you to Ms. Bloosy. She sits high atop my chest of drawers protecting me from the evil spirits of the night. Tap her on the head and, voila, instant light. Tap her on the head again and she will report you to the authorities! She's is mean that way!
So, Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. Some people don't consider it a holiday, but when Target devotes aisles and aisles to something, it pretty much qualifies as a holiday - especially when there's candy involved.
Do hospitals still x-ray bags of candy, searching for the ever-elusive nail in a Milky Way? I never knew anyone who found anything strange in their Halloween candy. I have, though, found strange things in my food from a fast-food restaurants.
Late one night, I ordered tacos at a drive thru. It was a very foggy evening, about this same time of year. I was starving! So, I got my usual three beef tacos and two orders of nachos. As I was driving home, I started eating the tacos. Of course, it was dark in the car and I couldn't really look at what I was eating, but I could sense that the meat was really crunchy and squishy at the same time. Then, I felt something crawling down my arm. I threw the taco onto the dashboard, turned on the light, and saw the tacos were filled with crickets! HAPPY HALLOWEEN! : )

To my BFF at Trader Joe's

Thank you so much for letting me step in front of you in line this morning. You will remember me - I had one item, you had 800. Oh wait, you didn't let me go in front of you! That's right. You just looked over at me standing there with my one pack of turkey while you unloaded your cart full of food that could feed a remote African village. Actually, I am not sure what is more pathetic. Was it me standing there with my one pack of turkey (for lunch) or the fact that you were rude and didn't let me pass in front of you? Hmm...
Well, I especially loved it when you pulled out your two $100.00 bills to pay for your bill and the cashier didn't have change. It was just the icing on the cake! That only added about 5 minutes to the experience. Luckily, I failed to wear my Kangaroo's to work because I may have jumped over and pounced on you! I watched as you left, secretly hoping you might trip, get caught shoplifting, or have a bird poop on you. No such luck, and trust me I could have used a laugh. Instead, I walked back to work totally unamused with my little pack of turkey.
Where did you go? We should have definitely done lunch!

Mt. Rainier
Recently, my Mom visited for two months. Yes - two months! One weekend, we drove over to Mt. Rainier for an afternoon. It is such a beautiful place to visit. There were lots of waterfalls, wildflowers and unprotected, treacherous drop-offs along the way. Thankfully, neither of us threw the other off the mountain. On a clear day, I can see Mt. Rainier in the distance on my way home from work. Too bad there aren't many clear days in the NW.
Is this how I roll?
So, I have been strong-armed into creating a blog. Well, as strong-armed as you can get by someone who lives on the other side of the country. My partner in crime, who has lured me into joining the blogging era, is no other than Queenie Anne. All I can say is she better not come up with some wild idea to start a Myspace page or join Facebook. I can hang with some things (i.e. coffee pots and irons), but I'm not to the Myspace stage yet...oh, and I'm not 19.
This blog may be filled with randomness and inside jokes. If you have questions, just ask. Better yet, it may be best if you don't ask...sometimes it is good to ponder things.
Here we go...enjoy the ride.
