AH! Halloween is in the air! Time to get out the knives and start chasing the neighborhood ... I mean, carving the pumpkins. It's also time to start working on your research paper if you are in school (reminder to self). So many things to do, and so little time! In lieu of posting something crafty (that I have yet to do this Halloween - and when I say this Halloween I really mean my entire life!), I will introduce you to Ms. Bloosy. She sits high atop my chest of drawers protecting me from the evil spirits of the night. Tap her on the head and, voila, instant light. Tap her on the head again and she will report you to the authorities! She's is mean that way!
So, Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. Some people don't consider it a holiday, but when Target devotes aisles and aisles to something, it pretty much qualifies as a holiday - especially when there's candy involved.
Do hospitals still x-ray bags of candy, searching for the ever-elusive nail in a Milky Way? I never knew anyone who found anything strange in their Halloween candy. I have, though, found strange things in my food from a fast-food restaurants.
Late one night, I ordered tacos at a drive thru. It was a very foggy evening, about this same time of year. I was starving! So, I got my usual three beef tacos and two orders of nachos. As I was driving home, I started eating the tacos. Of course, it was dark in the car and I couldn't really look at what I was eating, but I could sense that the meat was really crunchy and squishy at the same time. Then, I felt something crawling down my arm. I threw the taco onto the dashboard, turned on the light, and saw the tacos were filled with crickets! HAPPY HALLOWEEN! : )
